In honor of it being “Spooky Season” and today being the 17th anniversary of her death, I thought I would talk about my favorite serial killer, Aileen Wuornos or as I refer to her as “The Hitchhiking Hooker” –those were Aileens words, not mine, don’t come at me for the nickname. — (February 29, 1956 – October 9, 2002).
Aileen claimed the title of “serial killer” after murdering seven men in Florida within a years time. She was working as a prostitute and claimed that these men all attempted to rape her; therefore, she took the law into her own hands and shot all seven men.
It’s been a few years since I discovered Aileen. One night, I was watching serial killer interviews and I found this one interview with Aileen from October 8th 2002, which was ONE day before Aileen was executed by lethal injection. This specific interview sparked my interest in Aileen and after further investigation she became my favorite serial killer.
Aileen claimed that the cops knew that she was killing these men because she was a sloppy serial killer. She claims to have left finger prints everywhere and the cops were allowing her to continue killing these men because they wanted her to become a serial killer. She claimed that “they” were using sonic pressure on her head since 1999 while she was in prison.
When the interviewer (I’ve linked the interview down below, I do not own the rights to any of that interview and none of that content has been originally made by me) told Aileen she killed seven men she said “yeah, sure did!” Without any remorse. She was well aware that she took the lives of seven men but she felt that it was necessary because of how they treated her.
What struck me and drew me in the most was that Aileen passed a psychiatric evaluation days prior to giving an interview where she spoke on how the TV was crushing her head and that the food was poison and that the cops were covering up her murders until she reached serial killer status. It fascinates me how the human mind works; yet also makes me wonder, is there some truth to what she was saying? I guess we’ll never know for sure.
Link to the interview I am referring to above: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFBcjII3QAE I highly suggest watching it.
Something strange that I didn’t notice until I went back to watch the interview for accuracy purposes was that Aileen references 2019 in this interview as the year we all “get nuked.” Totally creepy. Another creepy fact, my best friend and I are traveling to Michigan this month and Michigan is where Aileen’s ashes were sent to be her final resting place.
