I apologize for skipping day 20 of Blogtober. I did a lot of driving over this past weekend. I drove to Michigan which was about a seven hour drive on Friday, drove around Michigan and then drove home Sunday. I was delusional by the time I got home Sunday night. I was in pain from being constrained to a car, unable to move due to driving and my eyes were heavy and I was just done. I then had to work on research for my upcoming research paper that is due. It was a wild night and I was looney from exhaustion so I skipped it. I will throw an extra post in before October is over to make up for it. I promise.
And so, as mentioned, I drove to Michigan on Friday with one of my friends to go visit our mutual friend at college. On Friday evening we got in, dropped our stuff off at our Airbnb, then headed to Michigan State University. From there after we all rejoiced in being together again we headed to Walmart for some of the essentials: coffee, food, snacks, beverages. We made our MSU friend make dinner as she is very good at cooking. She made us a wonderful dinner and we attempted to watch television before bed.
On Saturday we woke up and had a fun filled day. We rode around on motorized scooters and got a grab tour of MSU. We also went to Uncle Johns Cider Mill which was super fun. We got cider and walked around the pumpkin patch and went through the corn maze. I didn’t get to ride on the wagon but I did make a cute caterpillar friend that I saved from being stepped on so that makes up for it. Later in the day we went out for dinner at a cool Mexican restaurant and then headed home for our last night in Michigan.
The ride home on Sunday sucked. My back hurt, I was extremely tired and I quickly realized I never wanted to drive again but we got home safely after another seven hours in the car. I think it’s safe to say driving to seven hour shifts within a matter of two days is entirely too much for me, LOL.
Overall, I had a lot of fun. I got to spend time with friends and get a bit of relaxation from school work. Now it’s back to the grind until the end of the semester when I’ll be spending the majority of my time in Boston!! Stay tuned for more travel blogs from that.
